Well, representatives from the MANCHESTER & LANCASHIRE FHS will be at this event with CDs in hand which contain baptism registers of St Patrick's RC Church, Livesey Street, Manchester 1832 - 1820, and St Mary's Church, Mulberry Street, Manchester (The Hidden Gem) 1820 - 1831, as well as other items not in the MLFHS catalogue having to do with Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Cheadle, Chorley, Haslingden, Helmshore, Lytham St Anne's, Manchester, Preston, Rossendale, Rivington, Standish, and Wigan. 4 AUGUST 11:00 am to until 4:30 pm - LANCASHIRE FAMILY HISTORY AND HERALDRY SOCIETY, Chorley Branch, Third Annual Celebration of Family History, Astley Hall, Chorley, Lancashire. Admission is free. The following will be represented : Chorley Branch, Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society Irish Research Group, Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society Lancashire Record Office Landy Publishing Latter Day Saints (Family History) Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society Chorley and District Historical and Archaeological Society Chorley Reference Library Astley Hall War Memorial Room and Chorley Pals Wigan History Shop Lancashire Registration District Certification Service North Meols Family History Society The Catholic Family History Society Upholland Family History Society All of the above will host stands, display materials and offer advice on research. During the day, there will be four talks related to Family History, and the Friends of Astley Hall will be present in period costume. The event should be of interest to anyone interested in Family History, and particularly to those with family links to this part of Lancashire. Astley Hall itself is open to the public on the day. The Hall, with its extensive parkland, is a historical gem. The Reunion will, this year, be preceded by a Historical Walk around Churchtown, led by Gladys Rimmer Armstrong (Chairman) commencing at 10.45am from the gates of Botanic Gardens, Churchtown, and should take approx. 1 hour.
