Lancashire event: 14 July 10 am to 4 pm - INSTITUTE OF LOCAL AND FAMILY HISTORY "Photographs in local and family history: using the family album in research." "One of the few artefacts from previous generations to be found in almost every home is the collection of family photographs. Many people use them to illustrate their work, yet few family or local historians ever use them for serious research purposes or exploit their considerable potential as a basis for meaningful investigation. This day will explore various aspects of family photography providing lots of hands-on experience and practical advice. Led by: Dr Andrew Gritt " University of Central Lancashire, Preston PR1 2HE.
