I'm researching: HILL - Wigan, Hindley and Chadderton SHARRATT (SHARROCK) Wigan, Hindley and Chadderton GERRARD - Aspull and Wigan ASHTON - Aspull and Ince If anyone has any connection to these families I would be pleased to hear from them. I am researching 2 names in the SHARROCK family. Catherine (Kate) Burns married a SHARROCK. One of their children was John SHARROCK, who never married that I know of. They may have had other children as well. Based on the ages of her siblings, I would guess that Catherine was born between 1888 and 1895, however, the info passed on by a family member suggests that her son John was born about 1901. I know these 2 "facts" can't both be correct! My info is all based on some dim family recollections passed on to me from someone who visited England, so I was unable to probe the inconsistencies. So if you have some SHARROCKS in your tree who don't fit exactly, they may be the same ones. Catherine's mother is believed to be Hannah (nee Wilson) Banks. Catherine's siblings were believed to be: *** with surname BANKS: Margaret Ellen, Mary, John Richard, Elizabeth, Rachael, William *** with surname BURNS: Christopher who married Alice DARWIN, another daughter who married a HAYDOCK I believe they may have been in Wigan and surrounding area, but I am not even sure of that.
