Hi Heather, I've been it to the library and have found the following reference Pigots & Co Lancashire Directory 1834 Warrington Armitage, John: Butter Market Street (Fustion Cutter) He's the only Armitage listed in Warrington, as to the occupation it was obviously a major one In the town with approx 60 people listed (I'd guess it was a type of cloth but I'm not certain, maybe Somebody else can help) Hope this helps Anthony Hi Thanks to all who replied to my last query.
