    3. Researching: John Hewet / Hewett / Huet / Huit b ca 1715 d October 4, 1750. Warrington He was an inn keeper / Malster and Soldier. Tradition was that he was the proprietor of the inn that kept the sign of the Rams Head. Wife, Hannah Orrett/ Orritt. b. unknown d. July 12, 1751 Warrington. Believed to be daughter of John Orrett Children were: Thomas Huet/Hewett Christened March 26, 1741, Warrington. Thomas married 1st Marry Ellen Jefferson of Warrington February 16, 1762. 2nd unknown Joseph Huett/ Hewett Christened Sept 12, 1742, Warrington. Placed in workhouse when mother died. He remained in the workhouse until his death in October 1752 John Huet/ Hewett Christened January 22, 1743, Warrington. Also placed in the workhouse and was taken out at the age of 10 years probably indentured as an apprentice. Edward Hewet/ Hewett Christened Sept 1745, Warrington. He was also in the workhouse and remained on their records until 1758 where he was listed as a spinner. William Hewett/Hewitt Christened in December 17. 1749. Warrington. William was too young for the workhouse and was sent to an uncle to live. At age 14 he was indentured to a weaver as an apprentice and at age 17 he left his master and joined the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers. He toured Scotland with the 23rd for six years and returned to England in 1772. He shipped to New York in 1773 and then to Boston in 1775 to put down the Rebels. He deserted in March 1775 and joined George Washington's Army as a body Guard to Washington. He served until the end of the Revolution and was awarded the Badge of Merit by Washington. I am searching for any information at all on this family. Also wondering if any one on this list is living in the Warrington Area that can assist in some look-ups. Thanks Jim Hewitt
