First of all many thanks to the List Owner for providing this mailing list. Can someone tell me please if there where any Catholic Churches and catholic schools ( maybe run by the Church ) in Warrington circa 1850 to 1900 . Also if any surviving school rolls , and where would I be able to access them . I have checked LDS films on Burtonwood and Warrington , looking for Baptisms . No joy . Hello Pauline The Lancashire Record Office book 'Finding Folk' lists one Catholic Church in Warrington although there may be others:- Warrington St Alban - Bap 1774-1855. Marriages 1816-1855. Bur 1798-1854. Also listed is St Peter's Woolston, (just outside Warrington) Bap 1771-1875 I don't know if either church had a school.
