Hi Ian & Celia, I remember as a child a pub called the Blue Back off Horsemarket Street, it was at the end of two streets that met at an angle - like a wedge shape & the pub sign was a soldier with white trousers & a blue coat holding a rifle. If I remember rightly it was near the old fire station. Not sure about the Imperial (we used to call it The Imp), perhaps somebody else can tell you about that one.
