Hello Bernice, I have had a look for you and found Joseph MONKS in the 1841 census. They are found living at 'Lodge' Poulton, ref HO107/521/2: Joseph MONKS, 40, Ag Lab - all Yes (b. in Lancs) Ellen, 35 Mary, 10 (1831) Margaret, 8 (1833) Joseph, 6 (1835) John, 4 (1837) George, 1 (1840) I found birth registration references for some of the children at FreeBMD: John Birth Dec 1837 Warrington Vol 20 page 499 George Birth Jun 1840 Warrington Vol 20 page 81 Elizabeth Birth Jun 1844 Warrington Vol 20 page 917 Ann Birth Dec 1847 Warrington Vol 20 page 875 As for Annie Monks marriage - I can not find her marrying a James Thomson in the FreeBMD (that was an all counties search). I have found an Ann Monks married to either a Denis Myers or a John Wadden - Mar 1872 Warrington Vol 8c page 197. I suggest trying the Lancashire BMD site and see if the marriage can be found there. Hope that will help you.
