    3. Good morning from Australia, I am seeking information on my BRETHERTON family from Warrington and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction as to where to access parish records for the area? Thanks so much. Lee

    3. Lee, There are literally hundreds of Bretherton families in Lancashire in the 1881 Census. If you select those living specifically in Warrington the numbers come down. You really need to provide some specific names, dates and locations of your ancestors. If you look up Hugh Wallis in Google and follow the prompts to Warrington, you can look up the available IGI records. Then just click on the batch number. But these start to be phased out with official registration after 1837. You can get some other data from sites like FreeBMD and Lancashire BMD, but these are not complete. Otherwise check with your local LDS Centre who may be able to order in appropriate microfiche. But the best way to go is put some data on the list. You'll be amazed by the wealth of knowledge of the listers. Peter
