Sorry, I should have mentioned that my g.g. grandfather at 82 Church Street had my name as well, Thomas Birchall. He was born in 1834 and passed away in 1906 at that location of his business. I believe that businesses typcally were located at street level, and that families normally lived upstairs on the second floor. Does anyone have any pictures by chance of this part of Church Street around the turn of the century or prior? Does anyone know what happened to the T. W. Payton Hardware store by chance? After 1906 it was the business of Thomas W. Payton and Emily [Birchall] Payton (born 1871). I know from the picture that they had at least one son. Thanks again, Thomas Birchall
