    3. I'm just new to this list, so please bear with me. I'm originally from Southampton, but imigrated to Canada back in 1957. I presently reside in Southern Nova Scotia. I've been tracing my FIELD family back, and have hit a brick wall in Warrington. William Samuel FIELD was born there in 1825 and was married to a Jane (Unknown) born in 1831. I can only assume that shortly after their marriage, they moved to Portsea and had 4 children as follows: John FIELD b. 1860 Richard Alfred FIELD b. 1866 Henry FIELD b. 1869 Catherine FIELD b. 1872 My line was through Richard. Anway, I would like to find out who William's parents were and his wife Jane's maiden name. I would appreciate any help on my next backward step. 3. Hi Chris On the 1861 census there is a John Field b 1860 in Portsea, Hants with father William b Southwark, Surrey and mother Jane b Newton Le Willows, Lancs. On the 1871 census there is also a son Richard b 1864 & Henry b 1870, Portsea amongst other siblings. I will send the census images offlist if you think this is your family.
