Middleton, Hi, An ancestor, Joseph Hulse, born about 1764, lived in Boardman Lane, Little Heaton (Rhodes) with his wife Alice (who he probably married in 1815) and their children, the first, Isaac, being born in 1816. The IGI has details of a Joseph Hulse, born about 1764, living in Great Heaton with his wife Martha and a brood of children born between 1790 and 1813, one of whom, Isaac, died in 1792. Are they the same Joseph Hulse with Alice being his second wife? Doreen, perhaps you can help here. Do any of your burial records for the area have a Martha Hulse dying between 1813 and 1815. Any information that could either confirm or discount a connection would be useful. Thanks, Dom O'Malley.
Hi Dom, Haven`t any details yet of a burial for Martha Hulse at St Leonards Middleton, though I haven`t yet completed the years required. I have transcribed August 1802 - June 1814. Will see if I have time to take a look to the end of 1815 when I do my advice desk this afternoon. There is a burial for a Joseph at St Leonards. 1 March 1840. Joseph Hulse. Age 76 yrs. Miller of Middleton. (No grave number given). No marriages for Joseph at St Leonards (completed). None at Prestwich St Mary prior to 1800. No baptisms to date though I haven`t done all years yet.
