    3. Hi Eunice There is a family on the 1901 Census that may be yours:- 23 Park St, Middleton David Taylor abt 1862 Middleton, Lancashire, England Head M 39, Cotton polisher, Middleton Lancashire Mary E Taylor abt 1871 Manchester, Lancashire, England Wife M 30, Cotton polisher Manchester Lancashire Albert Taylor abt 1891 Middleton, Lancashire, England Son 10, Middleton Lancashire David Taylor abt 1892 Middleton, Lancashire, England Son 9, Middleton Lancashire Elizabeth A Taylor abt 1894 Middleton, Lancashire, England Daughter 7, Middleton Lanc William Taylor abt 1898 Middleton, Lancashire, England Son 3, Middleton Lancashire Edith Taylor abt 1900 Middleton, Lancashire, England Daughter 1, Middleton Lancashire (Park St Middleton was in the parish of St Michael's Tonge-cum-Alkrington) Did your David Taylor marry? If you know the date, you should really get a copy of the certificate to prove who his parents were, or at least see the entry for the marriage in the Parish Registers. This should confirm that you have the right family - with a name like TAYLOR there will probably be a few candidates! And I think you'll have to send for his birth certificate. Since you know the year in which he was born, this will be fairly simple. I think this entry from FreeBMD might be him:- Name: Taylor, David Record Type: Births Quarter: June Year: 1892 District: Oldham County: Greater Manchester Lancashire Volume: 8d Page: 725 The marriage of David Taylor born 1862 (the one shown as Head of household in 1901) may be on the LancsBMD website:- http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk There is one shown that could be yours, with a marriage to Mary E Bebbington in 1889 - if you think this is yours you;ll be able to send for that certificate too! Hope at least some of the above has helped. Good luck with your search Janet C _________________________________________________________________ MSN Messenger 7.5 is now out.
