    2. Thank you so much, Doreen. I am really stymied. I don't know where to look next-if they were not in 1841 census...their daughter Rachel was married in St. Leonard's in 1840. I know Jane's death took place much later than 1841. Do you have a suggestion as to what I can do next?? Thanks again! Helen

    3. Hi Helen, It will probably be a case of searching the PRs for baptisms and marriages, and collecting the info on relevant names. Look for possible wills also of earlier generations with the same surname. The early trade directories are of little use - not many people mentioned for the smaller towns.
