> I am trying to trace the marriage details of William Kent to Margaret Hilton in the Middleton area approx 1825 - 1835. They show on the 1851 Census Extract living at Oldham Road in Tonge. William aged 45 years, Margaret aged 45 years - both born Middleton Manchester. Their offspring in 1851 were Mary (20), David (19), John (17), Edmund (15), William (13), Ann (11), Amos (9) and Robert (4). Robert I realise it's a generation or more down the line, but a Lizzie KENT, 26, milliner, m Albert LANE, a great-uncle of mine, in 1893 at St John's, Broughton parish, county of Salford. Her father William is described as a baker. In 1901 the family was living in Coldhurst, Oldham, with mother-in-law Harriet WOOD, if I'm reading it right. Albert was a grocery manager. Lizzie was b Northampton, and Harriet in Oldham. Any connection? Clutching at straws here ...
