    1. James WHATMOUGH marriage, Rochdale

    3. Hello list James WHATMOUGH (a card maker) and his wife Mary had 4 children baptised at St Chad's, Rochdale, between 1814 and 1821: James, 9 March 1814, address Church Lane Abraham Atkinson, 7 May 1817, address Church Lane John, 2 June 1819, address School lane Jane, 22 April 1821, address Church Lane I've not (yet) found the marriage in the St Chads registers despite checking between 1806 and 1818, although a few entries on the film I've checked were illegible. I assume that as the baptisms were at St Chads the marriage was not in a chapel. Is this a sensible assumption? Can anyone check the banns register for St Chads for me please (the LDS do not seem to have filmed it) or suggest which parishes should be checked next for the marriage? Does anyone else have an interest in this family? Any help or suggestions gratefully received, Very many thanks Colin Moretti I'm a member of the Anglo-Italian Family History Society http://www.anglo-italianfhs.org.uk Looking for MORETTI, PAGLIANO, BARGMAN, FORSE in London CADWELL in Huntingdonshire, TARRY in Buckinghamshire McQUOIN TYAS, IVESON, WOOD, ABBOTT in Yorkshire WILD in Derbyshire WILD, BIRCH, TOMBS in Birmingham

    3. Hi Colin, There is the following marriage at St Leonards Middleton. Though I realise it may not be the correct one, it could be worth checking it. 20 March 1810. James WATMOUGH and Mary JACKSON. Do you have this couple on the 51 census to see where Mary was born? Doreen.

    1. SUMMERSGILL and WRIGHT families
    2. Hi there, I am looking for anything on the SUMMERSGILL family in Oldham and the WRIGHT family from Rochedale. I know that my G Grandfather Wilfred SUMMERSGILL married Lillian WRIGHT. Wilfred and Lillian had two sons Wilfred jnr (my grandfather) and Stanley. Stanley I know died in his 20's and I have found him in Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Wilfred we think had a brother called Thomas and Lillian had several siblings including Florence, Lola and Herbert. My mother believes that Herbert died during one of the wars and that the WRIGHT family may have moved to Rochdale from Bedfordshire. Any help or advice on how to proceed but be greatly appreciated.
