Hi George, I saw your note including interests in Howarths. This is information on my Howarths in that area. I have some more info on others, sent from kind people on the Lancslist. If you have any connection to the below or would like to give some names and dates of people you're looking for, I will check my notes. My Howarths: Jane Howarth married my gggrandfather Wright Hamilton in Oldham, Lancashire, June 12, 1829. Wright was born in Unsworth on 20 Aug., 1809. My ggrandfather John Hamilton had correspondence in the US after he emigrated from a cousins Joseph and James Howarth. There is an 1885 letter from Joseph, at the address of 59 Eton Hill Rd., in Radcliffe. There is an address for James at 35 Lily Hill St., Whitefield. Jane must have had a brother whose grandchildren were James and Joseph (my conclusion) unless her brother was significantly younger than she and had sons James and Joseph. In the 1881 census on family search et of Howarths lived near my ggrandfather and gggrandmother (Sarah Hamilton and John Hamilton, whose husband/father respectively, Robert Hamilton was the son of Wright Hamilton and Jane Howarth. It is possible that the below Joseph Howarth is John Hamilton's cousin... they all often lived close to one another.
