Hi Colleen I'm wondering if you've already looked at FreeBmd and LancsBMD websites. There are loads of John Taylor births listed for Salford on the Lancs site http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk and FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ has at least two possible marriages when searching for a John Thomas Taylor marriage to 'Henrietta':- Marriages Sep 1892 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor John Thomas Prestwich 8d 488 SMITH Henrietta Prestwich 8d 488 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages Dec 1898 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor John Thomas Rochdale 8c 45 Ward Henrietta Wigan 8c 45 (Not sure why it lists two separate registration districts on this one!) Have you found them on any of the Census? Or do you know likely churches? It's such a common name, that I'm afraid it may be looking for a needle in a haystack! but I wish you the best of luck. Good morning Janet, Thank you your email and time as it is very much appreciated. I have been searching both site for a couple of years, but because I did not have any first names it was very frustrating and once I did have the names it was still difficult, as I do not really know the Geographic's of England, so just keep searching Salford. I think the first one 1892 sounds more likely as my grandfather was born around 1895. Is this town near Salford ? I also made a mistake (typo error) when listing the death of George Taylor, should have been 1975, not 1925. I am in the process of searching Census now.
