Hi Sylvia, Here is the baptism entry: Long Street Wesleyan Methodist Church. 22 May 1871. Ernest s/o Joan and Ann Powel Colwell of Middleton. Born 7 April 1871. The mothers maiden name could be Powel, but you would need to purchase the birth cert for confirmation of this. This is the only baptism for this family in Middleton. The registers for Long Street for this time period are not at the church. They have been deposited in archives at Manchester Central Library. I have indexed all entries (baps and marriages) including other non-conformist churches in Middleton. Long Street Wes Meth has a web site: http://www.fencegate.demon.co.uk Best wishes, Doreen. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Keyboard isn`t working properly today (feeble excuse!) The fathers name should, of course, be John and not Joan.
