    3. Hi, Another request about Thomas Clarkson, who lived in Rhodes from at least 1824 with wife Sarah Greaves and their 8 sons, then second wife Mary Aughton. In both 1851 and 1861 Thomas gave his birthplace as the Northwich area of Cheshire, leading me to think he wasn't related to the other local Clarksons. However, his second marriage certificate gives his father's details as James Clarkson, a coal dealer, and in 1841 and 1851 there is a James Clarkson, coal dealer, living with his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Betty Clarkson, in Rhodes/Middleton. Thomas and Peter, and some other Clarksons in Middleton are the right age to be the sons of a James Clarkson who were christened in Blackley in the early 1800s. Could anyone researching this James Clarkson, or any of the other local Clarkson families in the mid 1800s, please get in touch to exchange details. Thanks, Dom O'Malley.
