I have been told from 2 different sources, that my GGrandfather Thomas DAVIES was killed in a Railway accident, crushed between a train and the platform. I am not sure if he worked for the Railway or was just working at the railway station, but his occupation was given as common labourer in the 1901 Census. I believe that it would have happened at the Middleton Station and the railway would have been the Lancashire & Yorkshire. I was told that the Middleton Library has an excellent newspaper index in their Local History Section and I was wondering if there was sks on the list who lives close and could do a search of it for me. I live in the US so it is impossible for me to do it myself and I don't believe that the index is on-line. Anyway, here are the details. Thomas DAVIES, killed between 1901 and June 1909 His wife's name was Sarah, and they lived in Tonge, Middleton. He would have been between the ages of 45 and 53 Thank you. Marina
