Hello List, Could someone please point me in the right direction to find a marriage. THOMAS BUTTERWORTH, born in Middleton to Robert and Mary Butterworth, is on Middleton census of 2 April 1871 listed as 34 years, single, unmarried. I believe he married Elizabeth (Betty) Dawson just after that census date but I cannot find them on the GRO marriage indexes. Their first child was born in New Zealand in January 1872 and Thomas's indication on his childrens birth certificates is that they married in Middleton. Margaret
