Janet, My mother's maiden name was Hardman and my grandfather Richard came from Rhodes but other than his birth date and his death I know no more, except that one branch of the family became Lord Mayor of Manchester a double barreled name with Hardman in it. To continue, i have a Betty CROSSLEY who married a Samuel VERITY, 1776 Halifax. Samuel died in Middleton in 1816. And from census info, a ? HARDMAN who married a Hannah VERITY. Their 1st. born, John HARDMAN was born circa 1848, Middleton. John married a Sarah MELLOR in1872, Middleton. How are you by the way.?
