Hi everyone, A general question. In the 1940's would someone wanting a divorce have to wait seven years? Would this mean one would have to be married seven years before proceeding, or separated for that amount of time? I think the waiting time changed to five years at some point, I know it was very difficult to get a divorce way back when. I'm not well up on this law having reached my Ruby. Are there any sites covering divorces? My father-in-law was a divorced man when he re-married in 1947, so i'm trying to pinpoint his first marriage. All input appreciated, thanks, Margaret.
