hi, having tried everything I can think of,, a chap on the manchester list suggested I put my request on this list, he said it isnt far fom heywood, and a lot of people on this list will be looking at heywood pr,s,,, so I am asking if anyone who is researching in the HEYWOOD PR,s could look for these people for me?? this is a HUGE brick wall for me.. my gt gt grandfather WILLIAM CHADWICK, was married to ANN surname unknown,, WILLIAM was born 1812/13,, one clue is that he was born in barton upon urwell (almost certainly eccles) and his father was THOMAS. i have really searched hard for this marriage over the past few years with no luck.. the marriage was 1833,, now in the same year the couples first child, THOMAS, was christened at heywood,, if anyone can help me solve this mystery ,, I would be so happy. regards maggi in aegina greece _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Hi Maggie, To the best of my knowledge St Luke's Heywood was not registered for marriages until the start of civil registration in July 1837. Most marriages in the Chapelry took place at St Mary's Bury the mother church. Chadwick is certainly a local name. The Lancashire Family History Society have indexed the Bury PC marriages. Do you have an address from the son's baptism? It could help with the parish the family lived in and where the marriage took place. Good luck.
