Hi, my name is Wendy and I live in Australia. I am trying to find some family history links before arriving in the UK for a holiday in August/september this year. I am hoping to look up the family of Joel HORWOOD bapt. Horsley 27 July 1800 the son of Joseph HORWOOD and Ann nee HILL who married Horsley 26 feb 1786. Joel was an engineer or iron founder and he appeared to go to Oldham, Lancashire, marry Jemima BUTLER and have at least 7 chn , at least 3 (from the IGI) bapt in Oldham. He and his family and his father emigrated to South Australia in December 1848 on the ship Baboo. If possible I would love someone from there to give me the names of the children baptised (as I only have the info about them from a secondary source, not my own, with no details) and wonder if the 1841/2 census would give me more information about where they may have lived etc before they came to Australia.
