Hi My gg grandfather John Hilton with his wife Alice and family are on the 1851 census with the address being Deansgate in the parish and township of Middleton. I have looked at several old maps but can't find anywhere resembling Deansgate. Please can anyone enlighten me as to where it was situated. Also in later censuses Johns son, another John, was living in Clarkson Street. I would also like to find where this is or was if it no longer exists. Regards Mal Campbell W.Australia
