Hi I have checked the Middleton pub book, and that says that the pub can be traced back to 1870 when it was kept by a brewer called Thomas Foxall. He was still there in 1891 but gone by 1900. The address for the pub is 25 Chapel street, although it was on the corner with Thorpe street.
