Hi to list, I have been trying to track down the marriage of my gg-uncle Samuel KENYON. Thought he was married in USA but find no record. Samuel was born in Middleton, England about 1834 the son of Joseph KENYON and Mary (BUTTERWORTH) KENYON. At some point between 1856 and 1863 he came to USA. I find a record I believe to be Samuel with his wife Sara A. in the 1870 census of Phil. So, was thinking he may have married in England in the mid to late 1850's? He is shown living with his parents in the 1851 census of Oldham at the age of 17. Samuel does not show up in the 1861 Oldham census record for this family. I wonder if someone might be able to check marriage registers for the record of the marriage of Samuel KENYON. b. 1834 to Joseph and Mary KENYON. Neil Kenyon French Lick,Indiana USA

Hi Neil If you look on the fhs http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ You will see Samuel Kenyon Married Susannah Coates At Manchester St John I did the search between 1851 - 1863 and this was the only Samuel Kenyon that came up. This site is very useful because they do enter the partners and tells you which church the marriage took place and it is much faster than FreeBMD, but of course they are only covering a County not a Country. It is the same as FreeBMD it is free to view, you will however have to check the coverage not all BMD's have been transcribed yet so a return visit could prove successful. When you do find a match if you want the certificate, if you click on the file number it will take you to a form already filled in with the details all that you have to do is out your details in. Ivy
