    3. Does anyone have any memories of Threepits in Middleton? Some of my relatives, the Styles family, lived there from the 1920's until they were demolished (maybe about the 1970s?). They were originally the pitmens cottages for the Hopwood pits. My grandparents were Lawrence and Gladys Lily Styles. Kind regards Rosemary Styles Bishop +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This email is confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed. 3. Hi Rosemary, My Dad's Aunty lived at Three Pits, Slattocks. Veronica Hall. Dad used to take me visiting her usually when we'd been fishing at the canal. It would have been late 1940's and into the early 1950's as I was only young. I remember her cottage being cold, dank and damp smelling. They should have been preserved, not demolished. Cheers Margaret. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rosemary Bishop" <rosemaryb@richuish.ac.uk> To: <ENG-LAN-MIDDLETON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 9:31 AM Subject: [ENG-LAN-MIDDLETON-L] Threepits, Middleton > Does anyone have any memories of Threepits in Middleton?
