On the present day map there is a Warlow Crest, and Warlow Drive off Manchester rd. Greenfield . Hi Folks Thanks for the help I think I can sort myself out now, I have been on the site you recommended it looks very interesting I will have another wander around it and if the weather holds out this weekend I will have a drive around the areas you suggest Vanessa you never know what I might find, someone else wrote to me off list and said that Mount Misery was used quite a lot around the early 1800's and seeing as my date was 1808 that fits rather nicely, I think that probably in the end it will turn out to have had a name change, not surprising really who would want to live in Misery all of their lives.
