Hi Everyone, Are there any maps online for Middleton around the 40's/50's. I'm particularly interested in the Parkfield area. Mum has just moved house and is now back to her roots and a little walk in the area left her confused as new developments and suchlike has made it a bit difficult for her to get her bearings. Some of the streets are still there, but have been chopped and changed. I thought a map may be helpful. Also, how can I find out which battalion/regiment my g.grandad served with during the first World War. He was a volunteer with the Lancashire Fusiliers for the King's shilling!! I have contacted Wellington Barracks at Bury and tried their website, but they cannot help as I don't have enough info for a search. He was invalided out through injury in 1917, and was fromParkfield, Middleton. Any help and input, much appreciated. Thank you. Cheers Margaret.

Old Maps co.uk has a good selection of maps when its working Regards Ness
