Hi Anne, Have you got the family on the 1841 and 51 census records at all? If Elizabeth shows up on the 41 census, it would give a better idea of when she was born. It wasn`t normal for Middleton people to be baptised at Manchester Cathedral. The baptism registers for St Leonards Middleton are quite large, but if you can narrow the date to the approx year (instead of two yrs), I may be able to look this up for you. Baptisms are not yet indexed for the 1840s for St Leonards, though the Methodist churches and St Michaels Tonge have been done (Elizabeth not there).
