    3. Hi, Pendleton is in the city of Salford. Go to www.lancashirebmd.org.uk and click on the Salford logo, think this will give you info on Salford and districts. Don't think the family home will be on a Middleton map. Hope this helps a little. 3. Hi Doreen, Many thanks for your email and assistance with sites to search. I have been searching these, but as I have mentioned to other people trying to help, it is hard without correct names, just keep going around in circles. 3. Good morning Janet, Thank you your email and time as it is very much appreciated. I have been searching both site for a couple of years, but because I did not have any first names it was very frustrating and once I did have the names it was still difficult, as I do not really know the Geographic's of England, so just keep searching Salford. I think the first one 1892 sounds more likely as my grandfather was born around 1895. Is this town near Salford ? I also made a mistake (typo error) when listing the death of George Taylor, should have been 1975, not 1925. I am in the process of searching Census now. 3. Hi Colleen, The only way to find births and deaths is by searching the GRO indexes, and you can do this yourself online. There is freeBMD at http://www.freebmd.org.uk and also 1837 online - haven`t got this site marked down but you`ll be able to find it on a search. The latter one is a paying site though. Have you got the census details with the birthplaces on? You will also need the marriage details of Thomas and Henrietta before you can find the birth of Henrietta. This will give her maiden name. These also can be found on the GRO indexes, and it may be worth while checking out LancsBMD for the marriage. http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk Best of luck, Doreen. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. There are loads of John Taylor births listed for Salford on the Lancs site http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk and FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ has at least two possible marriages when searching for a John Thomas Taylor marriage to 'Henrietta':- Marriages Sep 1892 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor John Thomas Prestwich 8d 488 SMITH Henrietta Prestwich 8d 488 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages Dec 1898 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor John Thomas Rochdale 8c 45 Ward Henrietta Wigan 8c 45 (Not sure why it lists two separate registration districts on this one!) 3. Hi Sylvia, Here is the baptism entry: Long Street Wesleyan Methodist Church. 22 May 1871. Ernest s/o Joan and Ann Powel Colwell of Middleton. Born 7 April 1871. The mothers maiden name could be Powel, but you would need to purchase the birth cert for confirmation of this. This is the only baptism for this family in Middleton. The registers for Long Street for this time period are not at the church. They have been deposited in archives at Manchester Central Library. I have indexed all entries (baps and marriages) including other non-conformist churches in Middleton.
