    3. Does anyone have any memories of Threepits in Middleton? Some of my relatives, the Styles family, lived there from the 1920's until they were demolished (maybe about the 1970s?). They were originally the pitmens cottages for the Hopwood pits. My grandparents were Lawrence and Gladys Lily Styles. 3. Hi Marshall, I have photocopies from the baptism registers at St Leonards 1807-1812. I have "part" transcribed these, but from the 2,000 baps there are 235 without names at present as the films are very poor. Will be checking the original registers from this week. However, there are 2 x Edmund Hiltons, one in the year you req. 22 May 1808. Edmund s/o Joseph and Mary Hilton. Weaver of Middleton. 14 Jan 1810. Edmund s/o James and Alice Hilton. Weaver of Thornham. Hope this helps. Doreen.
