SCHOFIELD, Elizabeth, b. c1835, also born at Spotland There may be later children as well. Any info would be much appreciated thank you. Jan in N.Z.

    3. Dear Viv, Believe you also must have some PORTER cousins. It is strange how this family (REPINGTON) Bible printed in 1663 is connecting people. REPINGTON BIBLE PRINTED 1663 Inscriptions: Repington July 17 Ripington Ann Ripington was baptised at St. Johns in Chefter Tanvery 11th 1691 James Porter born March 17, 1822 Sara Porter born August 17, 1823 (Alis) Porter born June 6th, 1825 *Jane Porter born March 18th 1828 Jane Porter her book. Steal not this book for fear of shame for hear you see the owners name. Robert Nuttall/Sarah Nuttal Mary Lane Nuttal *Jane Porter married a Bannister, and this is how the Bible passed down, through my Bannister cousins (whom we are related through later Rhodes). There also might be a chance that Betsy Rhodes may have bought the bible from the Nuttall family who may have been destitute, but I lean heavily towards Jane Porter to Bannister. The Nuttall entries I believe are listings of Jane Porter's cousins whom she must have been close to. Memories, eh? Barry Chapman, Tasmania, Australia birthplace of Errol Flynn, Ricky Ponting(for cricket fans) and the Tasmanian Devil! home to Mary Donaldson, the future Queen of Denmark.

I have recently downloaded a 1916 Attestation-Paper, Canadian Over-seas Expeditionary Force, for a man born in Oldham. 2. Robert Whalley
    3. I am looking for any information on my paternal grandfather, John Whalley, and his family. At present, all I have is the information contained on his marriage license: Marriage 22 October 1907 St James` Heywood. John WHALLEY age 24, bachelor, 112 Broad St Pendleton. father John Whalley to Mary NUTTALL age 26, spinster, 30 Bury St Heywood. father Samuel (deceased) an overlooker. witnesses Thomas WHALLEY and Alice Nuttall. I believe his occupation was listed as "news agent" and his father's was "gentleman." I believe that the Thomas Whalley who served as witness was his brother. Any information that can be found on either Whalley or any member of the family would be appreciated. Robert Whalley
