    3. Hi Frank and Janet, The marriage isn`t on the Middleton Marriage Index, so it could be either Prestwich or Oldham. (The index is complete for these yrs). Baptism of George c. 1780-85 doesn`t yet show on the baptisms index, though these yrs are not yet fully covered for St Leonards. There is an index at the library but this stops at 1780. The following yrs have been commenced, but are being transcribed from the original registers at Manchester. There are some Wolstencroft burials on the index - are they of any use to you? The families were from Blackley, and not Middleton. I couldn't find any mention of a William Moult. But I did find Moults from Manchester, Salford, Chorlton, Taxal ? (Please don't ask me where that is as I've never heard of it), Reddish, Beswick, Romiley and Allerton. Sorry I can't be of any use with this. 1. [ENG-LAN-MIDDLETON-L] HALLIWELL, Middleton, 1830-1850
    2. Hello Listers, My 3xG/Grandfather was Joseph HALLIWELL who married firstly Betty LIDDELL probably some time in the earlyish 1820s, and then Hannah TAYLOR, a widow in 1848. I am a descendant through John, a son of the first marriage, b. 1840, but there were six other children from the first and second marriages as follows: Joseph b. 1827 William b. 1829 Henry b. c1835 Robert b. 1851 Mary b. c1855 Fanny b. c1860, all born in Tonge, Middleton. I would love to hear from anyone researching this line, to exchange information. I am still trying to find a Parish record of the marriage of Joseph HALLIWELL to Betty LIDDELL. Jan in N.Z.

    3. am not sure if this is appropriate fr our lists but just in case anyone iss interested I decided to pass it on -----Original Message----- From: Kim Bewick [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: November 26, 2003 2:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: UK Schools History update Hello If you feel it is appropriate could you please forward the following to your mailing list Many thanks Kim Bewick ...................................................... Hi Everyone It's been a while since I last updated everyone on the website and there has also been a new development that I would like to share with you. The website currently houses photographs and/or information for 1627 schools and there are 292 articles posted on the forum also connected to individual schools. As I am almost certain that everyone of you reading this email attended at least one school, if it was one in the UK could I ask you to have a quick look to see if it is listed and if not please drop me a line with the details. If your school is mentioned than I would appreciate you contacting me with anything that you can recall from your time there, even if it is only the name of one teacher. Anything no matter how small can often help to jog someone else's memory. The new development that I have to share with you all is fantastic, well I think so anyway :-) I have been contacted by a company called Tempus Publishing (www.tempus-publishing.com ), who produce books on a wide range of historical subjects, to write books on the history of various individual schools in the UK. So if anyone has any ideas for a school that may be interested in taking part or would like to write one of their own for that matter, then please contact me. I am also looking for anyone with a past connection to Llandaff Cathedral School to contact me asap. Kind Regards Kim UK SCHOOLS HISTORY WEBSITE http://chrisb.4ce.co.uk/schools_site
