In response to the glassmaking question I remember a factory at Hindley Green/Tamar area of Leigh. Today it is the Volex factory but I'll be damned if I can remember the original name. I do remember climbing the plastic covered wire fence and robbing a few glass baubles that we used as marbles. I want to say its name had something to do with Hilton or something like that. Hello Dave The factory was Turner Brothers asbestos works. They also made fibre glass.I was looking through the archives of the Leigh list and noticed that you were wanting to know who lived in Leigh.
