    2. Hi Jim, There is not Jerry Street listed in either Westleigh or Leigh. However under the heading "Beersellers" there is a James Isherwood at 106 Twist Lane, Leigh. Unfortunately the name of the pub is not given. I looked up pubs on Twist Lane in another book, but because there are a number of pubs on Twist Lane I could not identify which stood at 106. I do not live in Leigh now, but I do not remember there being a Jerry Street, I do remember a Jury Street. Also there was/is a Isherwood Street, however it was not built in1885, because it is not in the Bedford-Leigh Directory. I hope this is of help. Regards, Pat.

    3. Hi Sorry to disagree but there was indeed a Jerry Street in Westleigh. It was off Nel Pan Lane, parallel to and just south of Westleigh Lane. It is on the first edition OS 25 inch map published in the mid 1890s and still on my street map of Leigh ca. 1950!
