Hello Valerie, Pamela and all interested listers, Thanks again for all the info and joy you have brought to my entire family, we cant get enough of it. I made a mistake about Ben Mcmaster, although there is a Ben Mcmaster, in his 80,s that still lives in Leigh, He is not the son of Robert & Ann Mcmaster of the 1880s. I beleive he is the son of one of Roberts kids. I will get my father to give him a call. I thought you might like be interested in what I know. Robert Mcmaster, son of Robert Mcmaster Sr. and James Eccleston, son of Isaac Eccleston, both of Leigh, boarded the S.S. Leutonic in Liverpool on July 19th 1905. They arrived in New York harbor on July 27th 1905, with $70.00 between them, heading for Indiana. Robert was 34 and married, James 29 and single. No sign of Edith Eccleston, Roberts wife or their 3 young children Robert, Agnes and Fanny Mcmaster born 28 Mar 1902 in Leigh.( Fanny Mcmaster Mcgoff is my grandmother) Above from: www.ellisisland.org On the 1910 U.S. Census, we find the whole family living in Dugger Indiana, Robert 40, Edith 36, their children Robert 17, Agnes 14, Fanny 9, and James 2. Also living with them is James Eccleson, Edith's brother. Both Robert and James were coal miners, as they were in England. In 1912 Robert Mcmaster and his son Robert, along with James Eccleston and his wife Jane Eccleston returned from Liverpool on the Lusitania on 18-May-1912. Not sure why they returned home at this time. Robert was visiting, friend Alfred Atherta?, who lived at 164 or 167 Globe St., Leigh. James Eccleston was visiting his brother Henry Eccleston, also of Globe St. I have no info on James' wife Jane Eccleston, yet. www.ellisisland.org The 1920 U.S. Census shows Robert Sr. and his son Robert living as boarders with another family in Dugger Indiana, still working as coal miners. I am told by my father that James, 2years old in 1910 dies at an early age and I believe Edith also died around this time. Still not sure where Agnes and Fanny Mcmaster or James Eccleston were at this point in time. Fanny Mcmaster marries my grandfather Leo F. Mcgoff in 1923, and on the 1930 U.S. Census, Fanny Mcmaster Mcgoff 29, her daughters Edith H. 7, Louise 5, Catherine P (Pat) 3 and her only son Leo F. Mcgoff Jr. (my father) born 16-Feb-1930, were all living with Leo F, Mcgoff Sr.,in New Bedford Mass. Fanny's father Robert, sister Agnes, and brother Robert also live with them at 399 Cedar Grove, New Bedford Mass. There is more, but I'm sure have put most of you to sleep.I'If not you must be a dedicated genealogist or a relative. If there is anyone out there related to the Mcmaster or Eccleston family members that remained in England, I would love to hear from you. Thanks Mark & Janet Mcgoff
