As one of LEIGH's newer members and have had some very useful information from some of its 80 quality listers perhaps I could be excused if I recommend to those that are unaware of the LANCSGEN list which is perhaps the most active list within Rootsweb. Also, today I purchased, at 'The Wigan History Shop' the 1885 Postal Directory of Bedford - Leigh. Which also includes Astley, Atherton, Culcheth, Kenyon, Lowton, Pennington and Westleigh.
