Hello list, I am a new member to this list Having traced my Grt Grandfather Joseph Calland to Wigan but born in Bolton 1829. His Father James Calland was born in Leigh in 1790 and his Father Thomas Calland was born in Leigh 1764. It looks like, and I hope, I will be researching in the Leigh area for quite some time. As I live in Hampshire it is not quite so easy so please bear with my questions on local knowledge. I did pay a visit to Wigan Heritage Trust last week and they were most helpful to me. Bob Howard
