In the 1881 Census Robert, Ellen, William, Emma and Frank THORPE, were living at 21 Chapmans Road, Bedford. Can anyone help me with an 1891 and 1901 Census look-up? William CARPENTER, bc1810, Somerset, married Mary SWETMAN, 13 Jan 1834 in Shepton Mallet, SOM, d/o Betty JENNINGS and adopted d/o Thomas SWETMAN. William died 2 Oct 1882 and Mary died 24 Sep 1900, both in Leigh. They are both buried in Leigh Public Cemetery, their grandson Willam Henry CARPENTER is also buried with them. When I visited I was unable to find the THORPE's graves. Did not at the time know about the other surnames to look for there. Is anyone able to do look-up's in the newspapers for Death/Funeral notices, as I would dearly like to know where these people are buried, and if in the local area, could photos of headstones be taken, I'll reimburse the costs for this. Is there anyone out there that has any of these people in their family tree? Regards Heather.
