Hey Guys, Just a quick word to say that three postcard views have been added to my/our Leigh Website. One of our listers is kindly donating images of her beautiful postcard collection of our area and I am slowly placing them on our website. If you would like to view them you can visit http://www.rootsweb.com/~engcleig/ Please bookmark the site if you like it as we will be adding much more stuff over the coming months. DAVE
Hey Dave! Really enjoyed the Leigh Website! I found the "Market" photos most interesting. My Mother told me stories about "going to market" when she lived in Westleigh. Would this Market have been in walking distance of Westleigh? The story was the whole family(Grandmother and her seven children) would walk, some distance, to market, but ride home with their purchases on some type of a tram. This would have been in the 1900-1910 era. Is the book with the old pictures of Leigh available to purchase? Keep up the great work.
