Hi Les I've had a good look at the 1851 for your family, but haven't had much success. I can see them in 1861 and 1871 living in Trunnall, Thornton, so I had a look at that district in 1851 too. They aren't there, but there is another Eaves family living in that district in 1851 - Robert and Agnes, with their children and Robert's brother John. I wonder if they might be related to yours, as it's not a very common name round there. By the way, when you said they were living at Back Tdyfle Rd Preston in 1861, I think you meant 1841. I've had a look at this image too, and I think it says Bk Fylde Rd, which would make more sense! Sorry not to have been able to help you. Maybe someone else can.
