Dear Carol It is just family history got a hold of me and I am addicted to it. People have helped me so much so I am always trying to do my bit back. I am not very mobile so can only look up things I have at home etc. I have given up offering to go to the Library or Bow Lane. I live up the other end of Blackpool, almost at Cleveleys. Photo of me, well not sure of that!! http://www.blackpooltoday.co.uk/ Have a look at this, it is new, there is also Fleetwood and Lytham too. You might see something of interest. http://www.lancashirechurches.co.uk/churches.htm Have a look at this, pictures of some Fylde Churches and others in Lancashire. I am still stuck here, so tied google, putting in Blackpool, Kirkham etc. Came up with lots of information. I hope you find something that you will find interesting, I am sure you will. Olive
Hi List, I have just received at death cert through today & would like to find out more info. William Alfred BROADHEAD died 11 June 1891 4 Bellevue Cottages, Blackpool W.S.D Cause : Deceased came to his death from burns accidentally substained by deceased pulling a lighted parafin lampoon upon him during a fit of delirium. Coroner J B Gilbertons for lanc inquest held 13th June 1891 Where can I find any coroner records or newspapers? Would they all be held locally in Blackpool? Does anyone on the list have access to any? Sounds like a nasty death. Please excuse my ignorance but want is a parafin lampoon? some sort of light/lantern?
