Last Saturday I visited the AGM of the LFH&HS. In case anyone is interested there are 2 new publications of the blue books of census indexes for Lancashire. The latest volumes in the series are:- Volume 17 covers Poulton le Fylde East, Gt Hardhorn with Newton, Staining, Gt and Lit Carleton, Gt and Lit Singleton and Poulton le Fylde. Volume 18 Poulton le Fylde West includes Blackpool, Bispham with Norbreck, Layton with Warbreck, Blackpool and South Shore. http://lancashire-fhhs.org.uk/ for further details. I know a lot of people have access to Ancestry, but these little books are so reasonable, and it is quite nice to be able to sit and browse and follow the Enumerator as he walked along his route. Also at the front of each is a map which gives parish boundaries etc. Olive
