Hello, I've posted before about the difficulties finding my gt. grandfather. He was about to marry my gt. grandmother when her first husband came back from the dead (he hadn't been killed after all; he had been taken as a POW), so my gt. grandfather left and was never heard from again. A couple of photographs have been found showing my gt. grandfather in a uniform, so perhaps he fought in WW1 also? The problem is, I don't know which of the services he would have been in, nor the regiment. I've never looked at military records before. Where would I begin, and am I able to get anywhere knowing so little information? Thanks, Stephen.
