Hello Stephen Directories are to my mind, something like Thompsons Directories. Some of them, i.e. Manchester, do not list all the small streets. Have you a date in mind? There are some available as CDs. Unless he was big enough to have a firm that would advertise, I doubt him having his own telephone number. There were so very many people that worked for the Tower Company over the years. If he was a lodger, as so many men were, then finding him is very difficult. As building the Tower, and the maintenance took many years, it is likely that he could have stayed in Blackpool for years too. Or maybe gone somewhere where a similar kind of job was available. A search for a marriage is one idea, or a death. After all when a person dies the person who registers the death can only say how old the deceased said he was at some time in his life. Unless there is some documentary proof. You could enquire at Park Cemetery for a burial there. The records are all on computer. cemcrem@fylde.gov.uk If nothing else, it will also eliminate another line of enquiry. Good luck Olive
