Hi Listers, I have been trying to find an ancestor on the above census with no luck. I know he should be there, as I have located him in directories over that time period. I recently browsed though the census sheets, using the free trial with Ancestry.com, without finding him. Whilst browsing, I noticed that enumeration district 42 has only one page. The description of the district, in the census, indicates that there should be around 25-30. Does anyone know if these pages are non-existent, or have Ancestry failed to include them? I am pretty sure that my missing ancestor, John Melling, age 38, should be there.Thanking you in anticipation. Yours, Bernie Davies, Ottawa, Canada.
Hi Bernie Can you send more details of John. Do you have a street name, or an area of Blackpool? I wonder if the information would be on the 1901 CDs. Maybe you can send more information please? Olive
Hi Bernie Have you tried looking at the National Archives 1901 index? http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ You can search the index for free and pay per view if you find the right one. Yes I have looked, with the same result. If the same pages are missing they will not be found there either. Thank you.
